Dr. Brian Hermanson

Brian was born and raised in Pierre, South Dakota and graduated from T.F. Riggs High School in 2005. He then attended South Dakota State University for undergraduate training. From there he earned his doctor of dental surgery degree in June of 2013 from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. He elected to further his training by completing a one year general practice residency at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. While in Utah he discovered his true passion for endodontics and decided to persue specialty training. In July of 2014, he returned home to Pierre for one year of practice as a dentist. He then enrolled at Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Misourri for a two year program to earn his certificate in endodontics and master's of science in dentistry. 

He enjoys spending time in the outdoors and there is no better place than Pierre as it has no shortage of outdoor recreation. Dr. Hermanson prioritizes time with his family, especially play time with his young son, but also enjoys hunting, fishing, and going on runs along the river with his three dogs. When Dr. Hermanson is not enjoying the outdoors or family time, he can be found coaching the Oahe Capitals Hockey Team

Paige Ferguson - Office Manager

Paige is our new office mananger as of July 2021. She moved to Pierre in May of 2019 to be with her husband. She has extensive management expierence in multiple different areas and enjoys being detail oriented in her job. She looks forward to the new challenge that endodontic health presents.

 Paige is orginally from California and has moved around the United States for family and job oportunities. She loves to travel and has plans to visit many countries abroad as soon as possible. Her and her husband welcomed their first son eariler this past year and they are excited for him to grow up in Pierre. She enjoys bringing her son and three dogs for hikes around Lake Oahe and the Missouri River. 

Susan Urbach - Dental Assistant/ Receptionist

Susan was born in Philadelphia and grew up on the New Jersey shore, graduating from Atlantic City High School’s Medical-Dental Assisting Program. During her senior year she trained with Drs. Dannenbaum Kaplowitz and Weiss, a dental practice with 2 periodontists and 1 endodontist. After her training there she realized she loved dental assisting and was hired by these doctors when she graduated. She moved to Pierre in 1977 with her family and has been here ever since. She worked as a dental assistant from 1977 until 1990. She then went to Avera St. Mary’s Hospital in 1995, and worked in radiology, admitting, and central scheduling. In 2003 she decided to become an RN and graduated from USD nursing school at CUC Pierre, in May 2005, receiving her RN license in June. She retired from nursing in December 2020. She was thrilled to have the opportunity to go back to her “roots”, and was hired as a dental assistant/receptionist at Hermanson Endodontics August 20, 2021. While chairside endodontic assisting is definitely a big learning curve, she is enjoying the challenge. She also enjoys meeting and visiting with patients and working with a wonderful, patient staff!

She loves Pierre and South Dakota, with its wide-open prairies, farms, the Black Hills, the Missouri River, Lake Oahe and the friendliness of its people. She lives in Pierre with her husband Brad, and together they share 6 children and 16 grandchildren. Her favorite things to do are spending time with all of them, watching the older grandkids play sports or the babies learning walk and talk. Susan loves being outdoors, walking, boating, swimming in the lake, growing flowers, and watching the birds.

Patrycja Kotilnek - Dental Assistant

Pati was born and raised in Poland where she graduated from University of Warsaw and defended her Master's Degree in Microbiology. She moved to the United States in 2013 following her Army fiancé Jon. Her dream was to be a dentist and she had this opportunity to make her dream come partly true by finishing the US Army Red Cross Dental Assistant training in Lawton, OK in 2014-2015.

Pati and Jon have a 6 year old son Thomas and new addition, daughter  Hanna, as well as an 8 year old dog Zeus. They moved back to Jon’s hometown of Pierre in August 2017 to be closer his family. Pati loves to spend time with her family. They love to travel together and see new places and meet new people. She loves outdoor activities like playing volleyball, badminton, soccer, football and hiking. Pati enjoys cooking meals with her family; they love to try new recipes and different types of food. She also enjoys sewing and decorating her house, finding ideas about DIY projects and putting them in her home.

Heather Voigt - Dental Assistant

Heather is our newest addition to the Hermanson Endo team starting November of 2021. Heather was raised in Murdo, SD for the majority of her life and now lives in Pierre with her husband, three kids and two dogs.

Heather graduated from LATC with a dental assisting degree and has previously worked mostly in the pediatics relm of dentistry, but is excited to get involved in the edodontics side.

When she is not working or traveling she enjoys spending time with her family camping the north western part of the US, boating on the Missiouri River and riding motorcycles with her husband and friends.
